Packet Pickup

We have two options for packet pickup:

Packet Pickup (free)

Day of Pickup
We are offering limited day of pickup. It’s recommended you get it before. You know, lines, when all you want to do is race.

Directions & Parking

The Race Venue is about 3.5 miles south of Bailey, Colorado on Highway 68, Wellington Lake Rd.

HUNDito Riders: please plan ahead for your arrival at the start to avoid the HUNDO rollout at 8:00 am. Plan to arrive at the start/finish by 8:00 am or you will not be able to access the start/finish area until the HUNDO riders have passed through CR 68 to the private property at approximately 8:45 am.

  • There is limited parking available. Please carpool and limit the number of vehicles at the venue.

  • The landowner does not allow dogs, so please help us out and leave your furry friend at home!

Please don’t make us ask you to turn around because of a dog or extended RV.

Camping

The Start/Finish venue and camping will open Friday, June 13, 2025 at 2:30 pm. The meadow is a private gem nestled between rugged mountains, carpeted with lush grass and wildflowers with a beautiful running stream. Campsites are within walking distance across a pedestrian bridge to the start/finish line.

We encourage reasonable-sized vehicles, but absolutely no campers over 22 feet. There is a strict no dogs policy in the finish meadow. Yes, we love them too, but thanks in advance for leaving them at home.

Please keep in mind that the camping and the start/finish venue are on private land. We are very fortunate to be able to host this event here, and we appreciate you treating the area with respect.

  • Fire danger is a critical concern. No fires allowed. This will be strictly enforced.

  • Please help keep the venue and surrounding area clean and dispose of all trash. Pack it in, pack it out!

  • Please respect the sensitive water area and do not disturb plant life, rocks, or other features near the stream. Be respectful of the property owner—we are fortunate to be able to use this special area for our event, so let’s ensure we can continue to do so.

  • Please, no generators. Be respectful of your fellow rider’s rest!

  • No vans or trailers over 20 feet at the start/finish area. No exceptions.

  • Limited space. Camping is free but must be reserved in advance here.

BUFFALO CREEK CAMPING

If you would like to camp for additional days, there are camp spots in the Buffalo Creek area. Please note that the Buffalo Creek camping is not reserved for The Hundo, and is open for public use. Visit The Forest Service website for more information on Buffalo Creek camping.

GLAMPING IN GRANT

Looking for an elevated experience? Our friends at Lostfork Basecamp have cabins, RV hookups and all the goods. Just down the road in Grant. https://lostfork.co/

Spectators

On Course:

No spectators are allowed on course. You must park in designated parking spots and in trail head parking lots. There have been issues in the past with spectators blocking narrow road ways. This impacts our permit and can jeopardize the future of the event so please be smart and only park where allowed.

Start/Finish:

Spectators are allowed at the finish, but parking is reserved for the riders. All spectators must park in the TJ’s Lumber parking lot just west of the venue (there will be signage). Spectators will be required to sign a waiver, per the landowners request, if entering the start/finish venue.

We Love Our Volunteers

The Hundo is a team effort, and we couldn’t do it without our beloved volunteers. If you are coming to the event area to cheer on the riders, consider spending the downtime with our crew helping make the magic happen. All volunteers receive a Yeti-styled t-shirt, beer and lunch.

Ride Details

The Hundo

The best 100K in the state. You get some challenging hills, sweet flow, and gorgeous views from Sandy Wash to Scraggy.

  • THE HUNDO is about 100 kilometers (62 miles) long, with approximately 7,386 feet of elevation gain.

The Hundito

A little shorter, but totally sweet version of the Hundo. You get the good parts of Sandy Wash and the CT. Still challenging, friends.

  • THE HUNDito is about 64 kilometers (37.6 miles) long, with approximately 4,387 feet of elevation gain.

Thursday, June 12

Friday, June 13

Camping opens. Check in between 2:30-6pm. Race prep and no-need-to-be-nervous jitters begin.

Saturday, June 14

7:45 am: Deadline for HUNDO bag drop.

8:00 am: THE HUNDO start.

10:00 am: THE HUNDito start.

1:00 pm: Estimated winner finish time.

Cut off times

Due to safety and permitting, we must enforce mandatory aid-station cut off times. These times are based on a 6 MPH average pace.

THE HUNDO 100K CUT OFF TIMES

  • Sandy Wash Aid Station, Mile 26.8: 1pm

  • Little Scraggy Aid Station, Mile 32: 1:45pm

  • Gashouse Aid Station, Mile 50: 4:45pm

  • Miller Gulch Aid Station, Mile 57.5: 6:00pm

THE HUNDito CUT OFF TIMES

  • Miller Gulch Aid Station, Mile 14.9: 1:00pm

  • Sandy Wash Aid Station, Mile 23.6: 2:30pm

If you do not make a cut off time, you can either abandon the race and wait for the SAG, or proceed on the course after your number has been recorded by the Aid Station Lead. You are no longer in the race and will not be supported. There are no exceptions to missing a cut-off time, so get your training miles in!

IN THE EVENT OF RACE ABANDONMENT OR DNF

If you are unable to finish the race, please go to the closest aid station or course marshal and let them know. Or, if you cannot move on the course, please ask another rider to inform a marshal, staff member, or medical so we can reach you.

If you plan to abandon, please inform a volunteer at the nearest aid station and text our course manager so we know you aren’t lost on the course. There will be limited SAG, so please be patient if you are waiting for a ride.

If you are a HUNDO rider and decide to cut the course short and follow the 64K route at Sandy Wash, you must inform a marshal or aid station volunteer so we can communicate your position to our timers.

Bag drop

Bag drop is available for HUNDO riders only. HUNDO riders can drop a small bag at the start/finish venue for pickup at the Little Scraggy Aid Station (mile 35). Drop your bag by the bike racks, on the parking side of the bridge by 7:45am.

Bags that are not claimed will be brought back to the start/finish venue after the Little Scraggy Aid Station closes.

There are several opportunities to get aid along the course, stocked with sweet and salty snacks, water, and Honey Stinger products. Aid locations and mileage are listed below. Please plan accordingly. If you have any specific dietary requirements, consider bringing additional food.

SAG

Two official SAG vehicles will be available along the course.

SAG drivers will be at the aid stations to transport riders in need of mechanical or medical assistance, those requesting a ride to the start/finish area, or those who have missed the cutoff time.

Please give your name and race number information to the Aid Station Lead and SAG driver if you need to use this service.

SAG drivers will be rotating between the aid stations, so please be patient and wait for their next visit to the aid station.

Riders will be transported to the start/finish area only.

Miller Gulch Aid Station: Follow FR 553 Eos Mill Rd. to CR 70 Echo Valley Rd. to CR 68 back to the Start/ Finish Meadow or to Bailey.

Gashouse Aid Station: FR 550 D to 550 to FR 553 Eos Mill Rd. to CR 70 Echo Valley Rd. to CR 68 back to the Start/Finish Meadow or to Bailey.

Colorado Trail at Shingle Mill Trailhead: Follow FR 550 to Little Scraggy Aid Station to Deckers Rd.

Kelsey Campground: Exit to Deckers Rd.

Sandy Wash Aid Station: Follow S. Buffalo Creek Rd. To Deckers Rd.

Medical staff will be positioned throughout the course.

INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN

Please be prepared for all weather conditions with extra clothing, rain jackets, gloves, extra food, and water. It will be at the discretion of the Race Director and Medical Team to determine if the weather is too severe to continue the event. Please follow the directions of the Race Director in the case of severe weather.

Pricing

The goal of THE HUNDO is to give back to the community through donations. The proceeds from THE HUNDO will be directed to Lucky to Ride, COMBA, and the Colorado High School Cycling League.

In the past, riders have been asked to fundraise a minimum of $300 to race in any length of THE HUNDO. This has provided much-needed support for our beneficiaries. However, we are aware that fundraising is not everyone’s cup of tea, and the price may be cost-prohibitive for many. So, we give you a choice. Fundraise to your heart’s content (please, oh please) or get in for a flat fee.

2025 Entry Fee

    $185 | Please consider donating a little extra, if you can. Let’s help keep THE HUNDO an Epic Race to Support an Epic Cause.

  • Fundraising Entry Fee
    $50 | With this option, you have a minimum fundraising goal of an additional $300 to race.

    • Sweet incentives are a part of this program, including entries, custom gear, and more. You are why THE HUNDO has been able to give so much, and we value you like a cold beer after a long ride. If you do not meet your goal by May 11, we will give your spot to someone else.

  • Hundo Hero
    $1,000 | You help put more coin into the loving hands of our beneficiaries. You like kids and trails, don't you?

    • Includes HUNDO Yeti swag, VIP reserved parking, and bluebirds on your shoulder. And most importantly, a big ol' donation to incredible nonprofits.

Refund policy

Your Entry is non-refundable. Well, technically, it is not, but you have options if we are sold out.

REFUNDS

If we have a waitlist, refunds will be available. Waitlist riders have first priority, it is not possible to sell your entry to a friend, teammate etc. Full refund minus $20.

TRANSFERS

There will be NO transfers when we have a waitlist. Waitlisted riders have first priority. In the event there is no waitlist, you may transfer to a friend or family member for a $20 fee. 

DEFER

Entries cannot be deferred.
